-
What ingredients are in Fortified Colostrum?
- Bovine Colostrum – This ingredient is derived from a mother cow the first few days after giving birth and before true milk appears. Colostrum contains antibodies—a group of immune system proteins—that may help boost the immune system.*
- Lactalbumin (whey protein) – This ingredient is the albumin in milk, a component of whey, and an important source of the amino acid tryptophan. Lactalbumin supports healthy body systems—from your muscles to your brain.*
- Milk Fat Globule Membrane – This membrane is made up of lipids and proteins surrounded by milk fat secreted from milk producing cells in mammals: in this case, bovine sources. This ingredient supports intestinal health, respiratory health, and muscle, brain, and motor function.*
- Lactoferrin (from bovine) – This iron-binding protein is found in cow’s milk. This protein supports the activity of various immune system cells and may also assist in collagen synthesis.*
- Casein Glycomacropeptide – This ingredient is milk-derived and helps support healthy intestinal flora, which in turn, supports your immune system.*
- 2’-Fucosyllactose (2’FL) – This major prebiotic can provide many benefits:
Supports intestinal health*
Supports a healthy microbiome*
Supports healthy immune system function*
May support cognitive performance and development*
Boosts the immune system function of the digestive tract*

Why did 4Life create Fortified Colostrum?
We developed Fortified Colostrum to complement our 4Life Transfer Factor products. While transfer factors are one of the most potent immune system compounds in colostrum, they are not the only compounds. Taking concentrated transfer factors in combination with 4Life Fortified Colostrum can further enhance your immune system support efforts.*
-
How is Fortified Colostrum different than 4Life Transfer Factor, which comes from cow colostrum?
Although 4Life Transfer Factor from cow colostrum comes from the same source as Fortified Colostrum, 4Life Transfer Factor products contain trillions of transfer factor molecules in every capsule. Fortified Colostrum contains pure unfiltered colostrum, which may inherently contain a small amount of transfer factors, but Fortified Colostrum is nowhere near as concentrated a source of transfer factor molecules as 4Life Transfer Factor. Fortified Colostrum also contains other nutritive ingredients that can benefit human health in addition to immune system support.*

-
Why is colostrum so important to human health?
Colostrum is the first milk that mammal mothers provide their newborn young. It is a very concentrated source of vitamins, other nutrients, and, most importantly, immune system cells that can bolster a newborn baby’s immune system. This first milk is very important in giving a newborn baby its best possible start in life. Humans of all ages can continue to benefit from the wonders of colostrum. Our colostrum is sourced from cows but enriched with other nutrients to make it mimic human colostrum, therefore offering you the best health and wellness benefits.*

This product comes from mother cows. Do the calves get enough colostrum before 4Life uses it for their products?
Yes. Calves always get the colostrum and all they need first. Cows make several gallons more than a calf typically consumes. We only use the excess. This is the same situation as with 4Life Transfer Factor.
