Foundation 4Life Sponsors Excel Awards Banquet

Salt Lake City, UT (May 1, 2023) Last Thursday, Foundation 4Life^® sponsored a recognition event for two outstanding teachers in the Granite School District: fourth grade teacher Michelle La-Bonnell and Hunter High School drama teacher Kjersti Parkes. The Excel Award banquet took place at the Larry H. Miller Megaplex Theaters in South Jordan, Utah.

The Excel Award was created in 1988 to recognize outstanding achievement in the classroom through legacy, leadership, and learning. There were 1,700 nominations this year. Judges identified the final thirty candidates. These thirty teachers then underwent a period of classroom observation. Judges identified and honored the top ten.

4Life Marketing Specialist Gerusa Nobre presented the Excel Award to La-Bonnell. Director of Foundation 4Life Jenna Lisonbee presented the Excel Award to Parkes.

Lisonbee: “These teachers’ greatest desire is to instill self-confidence in their students, which is a fundamental building block of education. Our work at Foundation 4Life is similar. We are committed to supporting children around the world and meeting their needs, including the self-confidence that comes from health, happiness, and opportunity. It’s an honor to recognize these teachers in our community.”
