Salt Lake City, UT (June 6, 2024) Foundation 4Life teamed up with the Granite Education Foundation to sponsor the 2024 Absolutely Incredible Kid Award.
The Absolutely Incredible Kid Award is given to a student who has overcome significant challenges on their road to graduation. This award gives teachers an opportunity to nominate young students who have proven themselves exceptional. School counselors in the Granite School District nominated 16 finalists. This year’s winner is Cyprus High School senior Kalia Gomez.
Gomez’s mother passed away in 2022. Kalia faced this obstacle with resilience and determination to succeed. She has excelled in her classes and maintained excellent grades, all while taking advanced coursework. Gomez will be graduating this semester and attending the University of Utah in the fall. Her award includes $1,000 to put towards her tuition, books, and other expenses.
