Salt Lake City, UT (August 22, 2024) Today, 4Life named Brazilian jiu-jitsu black belt gold medalist and world champion María Ruffatto as the company’s newest Team 4Life member.
At just twenty-four years old, María has a decade of experience competing in No Gi jiu-jitsu. No-Gi fighters don’t wear traditional kimonos, but contemporary athletic uniform of tee shirts and shorts. 2016, María joined Gamonal Fighter, an affiliate of Brazilian Top Team (BTT), where she enjoyed numerous competition victories.
In 2019, Maria travelled to Charlotte, North Carolina, to compete in the International Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu Federation (IBJJF) World and Pan American No-Gi Championships. She won gold.
In 2020, María moved to the United States on an athletic visa to train with her current coach, Gustavo Bessa. She earned her black belt in December of 2022.
